He was a graduate of Conroe High School in 1972. David met his wife, Cyndi, in 1971 and later married in 1979 at St. Mark Lutheran Church in Conroe, Texas. They settled in Montgomery, Texas and had their two children. Shortly after, he began his career with Cashner Funeral Home alongside his best bud Jeff Cashner. During his career, David was passionate and excelled in numerous roles while making dear lifelong friends. He dedicated 44 years before retiring in 2019 as Superintendent at Garden Park Cemetery. In his spare time, David loved the outdoors, enjoyed many camping trips, beach vacations, carpentry, landscaping and fishing. Most of all he was proud to be a committed husband, devoted father and grandfather to his family.
David is preceded in death by his loving wife of 40 years, Cyndi Wilson; father, Tillman “T. O.” Wilson; mother, Corinne Wilson; and brother, Oliver Wilson.
Survived by his daughter, Stephanie Wilson; son, Trey Wilson; grandsons, Caleb and Bentley; brothers, John Wilson and wife Wanda; Gene Wilson and wife Sherrie; Aaron Wilson and wife Vi; and Ralph Wilson; along with numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Visitation will be Tuesday, December 27, 2022, from 5:00pm-7:00pm at Cashner Funeral Home in Conroe, Texas. The service will be held the following day, Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at 2:00pm at Cashner Funeral Home. Immediately following the service, he will be laid to rest at Garden Park Cemetery. Grandsons and nephews will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, please donate to American Cancer Society or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in his honor.
