Cody Jack Perkins

Cody was raised in Huntsville, Texas and after graduating from high school he enlisted in the Army where he served five years. In those five years he served two tours in Operation Iraqi Freedom. After being honorably discharged, Cody joined the police academy. After completion, he joined the Huntsville Police Department where he worked until his passing. He was an officer for almost eight years.

Cody is preceded in death by his grandparents, Leon and Shannon Perkins and Jack and Kay Phillips.

He is survived by his wife, Afifa Perkins; son, Hudson Perkins; parents, Charlie and Christie Perkins; brothers, Cory Perkins and his wife Jordan, Caleb Perkins and his girlfriend Erin Bruner; nieces and nephews, Haygen Perkins, Jordan Petry, Cope Perkins and Kennedy Perkins; brothers-in-law, Jamal Aljaafreh and girlfriend Brittney Jones, AJ Aljaafreh and fiancé Abby Boyce; sister-in-law, Jameela Aljaafreh and boyfriend Canon Schamerhorn; mother-in-law: Shirley; as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Cody is also survived by two other brothers, Derek Mercado and his wife Jennifer and Jeremy Carroll.
