She was born in San Antonio, Texas to parents Louie and Hattie Wood. While in high school her parents bought a pecan orchard in Purvis, Mississippi and moved the family there. That is where she met her husband Gene, who she called Chuck, her sophomore year of high school in Purvis. The couple married and he served in the United States Air Force. After serving he was employed with the FAA and they moved to Conroe, Texas in 1965. Carol absolutely loved her home in Conroe and loved sharing it with family and friends.
Carol was preceded in death by her husband Gene in 1992, and her best friend Geraldine Norvell. She is survived by her son Terry Johnson of Houston, her daughter Sandra Davis, her husband Jim Davis, grandson Carson Davis of San Diego, CA. Also, her granddaughter Jamie Davis and her husband Daisuke Urakawa who live in Osaka, Japan. She also spent time with her caregiver Kebble Edison.
Visitation will be on Sunday, January 8, 2023 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 p.m. at Cashner Funeral Home. Funeral services will be on Monday, January 9th at 10:00 am at Cashner’s with burial to follow in Garden Park Cemetery.
