.Carl Lee Day, age 94 of Conroe, TX, passed away peacefully on May 9, 2017 at Good Day Personal Care Home in Conroe. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 12, 2017 in Cashner Colonial Chapel at 3:00pm with visitation two hours prior. Burial will follow in Garden Park Cemetery. Born on January 21, 1923 in Iola, TX to Howell H. and Linnie L. Day, he was the first born of 5 children. Carl graduated from Iola High school. He proudly served as a Sergeant in the Army and the Army Air Corps during WWII in the Pacific Theater in Australia and Philippines. After his honorable discharge, he returned home on December 26, 1945 to his bride Juanita Day and together they raised 2 sons. He worked as a machinist for Reed Roller Bit and later as a store manager for Sears and Roebuck Company for 23 years. Carl was devoted to his wife Juanita as well as his entire family. He delighted in his many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. He also enjoyed raising cattle on the family farm in Iola, TX. He was baptized in a stock pond on the family farm and a member of West Conroe Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Melba Delaney and Mildred Teets, Lucille Maynard and wife Juanita and son, Dwayne Day. Carl is survived by his son, Gary Day and wife Dorothy, sister, Dora Guerrero, grandchildren, Alicia Berwick and husband Alex, Tara Walker and husband Daryl, Jonathan (Jon) Day and wife Leslee; Amanda Hill and husband Jeremy, great grandchildren, Ryan Carson, Collin and Anna Bei Berwick, Reese, Cade and Meg Walker, Peyton Jon, Zach and Davis Day, Ansley, Emily and Cody Hill and great great grandchild, Olivia Berwick. Pallbearers will be Jon Day, Alex Berwick, Daryl Walker, Jeremy Hill, Carson Berwick, Collin Berwick, Reese Walker and Cade Walker. The family would like to give a special thanks to Sandy Lane, Amber Andrews, Sharon Spalinsky, Gloria Jordan and Livia Rotari at Good Day Personal Care Home.
