Mary Louise Harrison Bryant

Mary Louise Harrison Bryant, age 80, passed away on Thursday, May 11, 2017, at home. Born October 16, 1936 in Union County, she was the daughter of the late Jehu Chasteen Harrison and Henrietta Love Harrison.

Mary retired from Harris Teeter, and worked at First Union National Bank, as well as being a volunteer at Frye Regional Medical Center. She was a jokester who loved to laugh and make others laugh. She was known for her baking and cooking, especially for church dinners. She was known as “Granny” to her beloved grandchildren. Mary grew up in Confidence Advent Christian Church in Collettsville, NC, and transferred to First Adventist Christian Church in Hickory.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Paul Grady Bryant; brothers, Junior Harrison and Charlie Harrison and sister, Jessie Mae Lawton.

Those left to cherish her memory are son, Eddie Bryant and wife, Beverly Teague of Taylorsville; daughter, Michele Terry and husband, Steve of Conover; grandchildren, Bryan Terry and Lindy Terry

A Service of Remembrance will be held at First Advent Christian Church in Hickory at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, May 15, 2017, with Rev. John Roller officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. - 12:45 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Park in Lenoir.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the First Responders who attended to her on numerous occasions, and to the nurses of Fresenius Kidney Care of Catawba Valley.
