Mr. Marvin Robert McKinney

Born March 24, 1952 in Mitchell County, he was the son of the late Dewey George McKinney and Josephine Hoilman McKinney.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Patricia Ellis McKinney.

Marvin served in the United States Marine Corps from December 10, 1973 to December 9, 1977 as a SSGT. Marvin will be fondly remembered for his quick wit, amazing cheesecakes, and the love he had for his children and grandchildren.

Those left to cherish his memory are his two daughters, Angela Gragg and husband, Jon of Lenoir, and Rebecca Sigmon and husband, Clay of Newton. He has five grandchildren whom he cherished, Abigail, Jacob, Wyatt, Izzy and Norah.

A Service of Remembrance will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 25, at Drum Funeral Home Chapel in Conover. A private burial will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial may be given to Catawba Regional Hospice, 3975 Robinson Road, Newton, NC 28658.
