Maudie Mae Barrett

Maudie Mae Barrett, 67, of Connersville, died Monday, July 10, 2017 at Hickory Creek at Connersville. Born January 26, 1950 in Fayette County, Indiana, Maudie was the daughter of John D. and Maxine Rose Steele. She attended Connersville area schools and the Full Gospel Holiness Church. Maudie greatly enjoyed outdoor activities, including fishing and tending her flowers. She also found pleasure in sewing, shopping and listening to bluegrass music. Maudie is survived by her daughters: Kimberly S. O’Brien of Connersville; Cindy L. Molnar of Batesville; her longtime companion: Charles H. Smith of Connersville; her grandchildren: Nicholas James Bunch, Dustin Lee Bunch, Kevin Anthony Duncan, Benjamin Allen Duncan, Cassidy Lynn Molnar; five great-grandchildren; her siblings and their spouses: John Steele and Shawn; Judy Gough and Kevin; Mary E. Lennex and Chester, all of Connersville; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Maudie is preceded in death by her siblings: Juanita Russell, Connie Sizemore, Geneva Steele and Nelson Rose. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Myers Chapel, Connersville with Rev. Robert E. Lee officiating. Interment will follow in Lick Creek Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home from 10 a.m. Friday until the time of service.
