Jeanette Rose Collins, 92, passed away on December 2, 2023.
Jeanette was born July 17, 1931, in Jackson County, Kentucky, to Daniel Robert and Telitha Margaret Baldwin King. She loved the Lord with all her heart and ministered to many souls through song. Jeanette sang with The Collins Family in churches throughout Indiana, Ohio and Kentucky. She attended many Pentecostal churches in the area. Jeanette worked at Philco on the air conditioner and refrigerator lines for several years.
Jeanette is survived by her two sons, Jack (Marilynn) Collins of Hagerstown and Bob (Sandy) Collins of Richmond; daughter, Joy (JR) Back of Connersville; brothers, Brad (Jolene) King of Florida, Thomas (Geraldine) King of Connersville, James (Shirley) King of Florida and Jerry King of Kokomo; sister, Mary (Dale) Przybyl of Wisconsin; 21 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and many friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Zefphar Collins; parents; son, Jeff Collins; daughter, Janice Hammpton; Dian Eversole, Brenda Hampton, brothers, Donald King, Ray King (infant), and Bobby Joe King; sisters, Bertha Bennett, Joyce Hope, Judy Hall, and Rinda Mays; grandson, Terry Hampton; one infant great-grandson and one great-granddaughter.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
Visitation for Jeanette Rose Collins will be held Thursday, December 7, 2023, from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. at Showalter Blackwell Funeral Home, Myers Chapel, 920 Central Avenue, Connersville, Indiana. Funeral service will be at 2:00p.m., Thursday, December 7, at the funeral home with Dennis Collins officiating. Burial will be in Dale Cemetery.
