Jane L. Bentley

Connersville native Jane L. Bentley, 61, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 1, 2023, at her residence. Jane was born on December 24, 1961, to Elmer W. “Dusty” and Margery A. Pollitt Lucas. Jane graduated from Connersville Senior High School with the class of 1980. On August 30, 1980, she married Bruce Bentley; together they shared thirty-nine years prior to his death in 2019. Jane was employed with Walmart as a cake decorator. She retired in 2020, after thirty years of dedicated service. Jane was an avid Amazon shopper and crafter. She enjoyed trips to the casino and to the bingo hall; her kids lovingly referred to her as a bingo hoe. Jane adored hosting Thanksgiving in her home where she always maintained an open door policy. She would care for the needs of others, before her own without a second thought. Jane loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and extended family, they will all miss her greatly. Jane is survived by her children: Sherry Robinson and her husband, Scott; son: Bruce A. Bentley and his significant other Stacy Kelly; fur daughter: Squirt; grandchildren: Kyle Robinson, Braxton Kelly, Jessie, Juliet, William, and Emma Bentley; great-grandson: Caden Robinson; sisters-in-law: Cheryl Lucas, Ellen Gibbs, Linda Kalkhoff, Donna Bentley and Claudetta Bentley; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, Jane is preceded in death by her brother: Howard L. Lucas; brothers-in-law: Ernest Wayne Bentley and William Roy Bentley. A funeral service will be conducted at 12:00p.m., on Monday, October 9, 2023 at Showalter Blackwell Long, Myers Chapel, Connersville with Pastor Chris Lovett officiating. Burial will follow at Bentonville Cemetery. Friends may gather at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home to offset the cost of services.
