Obituary of Howard V. Fairchild
Howard V. Fairchild, 92, of Connersville, died peacefully, Thursday, July 18, 2024 at Hickory Creek Nursing Home in Connersville. Howard was born August 24, 1931, in Naples, Kentucky to Elliot and Martha Ellen Pennington Fairchild. He married the love of his life, the former Mae “Ruth” Watson on May 24, 1974; together they shared forty-eight years prior to her death in 2022. Howard was faithfully employed at Ford; He retired after twenty four years. Howard was an Indiana Pacers and Cincinnati Reds fan. He enjoyed traveling with his wife to Florida, Tennessee, Branson, Missouri and anywhere the car would take them. Howard was man of faith, whom loved spending time with his family. He will be forever missed by those who know and love him. He is survived by his step daughter and caregiver: Nancy Shelley of Connersville; brother: Edgil Fairchild of South Bloomfield, Oh; grandchildren: Kenny and Cindy Hunt, Paula and Roger Miller; great-grandchildren: Jennifer and Billy Langdon, Michelle and Nick Seibert, Blake and Brooke Miller, Brandt Miller; ten great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews too numerous to mention. In addition to his parents and wife, Howard is preceded in death by his brothers: Charles Fairchild, Clifford and Rosemary Fairchild, Clarence Fairchild, Lawrence and Orleanis Fairchild, Ray Fairchild; sister: Imogene Sexton. A funeral service will be conducted at 12:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 24, 2024 at Showalter Blackwell Long, Myers Chapel, Connersville with Bobby Lee officiating. Burial will follow at Dale Cemetery, Connersville. Friends may visit at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m., until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in Howard’s honor.
