A Richmond native, David was born December 10, 1942 to William Carmel and Janet Moore Jarvis and attended Richmond area schools. On November 29, 1964, he was married in Richmond to the former Phylliss Newton. David retired from Schrock Cabinet Company in Richmond where he had been employed for twenty-four years. He was a very generous and loving man who adored his family. He enjoyed gambling at the casinos, gardening, discussing politics and he never missed reading the daily newspaper. David especially enjoyed fishing with his grandchildren.
David is survived by his wife of over fifty years, Phylliss; his children: David Wayne Jarvis II of New York, New York; Wendy Isaacs of Connersville; Sean G. Jarvis and wife, Kelly of Seymour; Michelle Chapman and husband, Brian of Connersville; his grandchildren: Chase Isaacs and fiancé, Stephanie Kirk; Brant Isaacs, all of Evansville; Derek Chapman and wife, Kelly; Tory Cain; Guy Chapman; Kyle Browne, all of Connersville; Anissia Jarvis of Seymour; his sister: Judy K. Schilling of Dawson, Minnesota; several nieces and nephews.
David’s parents preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Myers Chapel, Connersville, with Pastor John Reynolds of Calvary Baptist Church officiating. Cremation will follow. Friends may visit at the funeral home from 11 a.m. Thursday until the time of service.
