IN THE CARE OF
Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home
Connersville native Christopher D. Rowe, 61, died Friday, January 26, 2024, at his residence.
Chris was born on March 13, 1962, to the late Joseph E. and Linda Lane Rowe. He attended Connersville High School. Following graduation, Chris enlisted in the United States Army. He married the love of his life, the former Sandy King on September 17, 1983. Chris was proudly employed through Med Tech in Goshen, Indiana where he was responsible for manufacturing the cabinets inside ambulances. Chris was a simple man with a huge heart. He enjoyed backyard brawling on the basketball court with his friends; but he always made sure the kids watching from the bench got a chance to play on his team. In addition, Chris was an avid history buff; when at home you could find him glued to the history channel. Most importantly, Chris loved spending time with his wife and family. He will be dearly missed.
In addition to his wife Sandy of forty-years, Chris is survived by his son: Michael King; grandchildren: Vic, Gavin, Owen, Ava, Markie, Layla, Ashley and Jazmine; brother: Robert Rowe; brother-in-law: Wayne Richardson; several nieces, nephews, friends and kitty cats.
Chris is preceded in death by his parents: Joseph and Linda; siblings: Phillip Rowe, Kathy Horn, Jean Richardson, Karen Reisinger; brother-in-law: Bill Horn.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 2, 2024, at Showalter Blackwell Long, Myers Chapel, Connersville with Bishop Brandon Blevins officiating. Burial will follow at Lick Creek Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Thursday, February 1, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Fayette County Animal Shelter in Chris’ honor.
