Carolyn Jo McDonough

Carolyn Jo Cornett McDonough, age 61, died peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving family, Tuesday, November 29th, 2016 after a courageous 14 year battle with cancer.
Carolyn is survived by her husband: Timothy McDonough, whom she married July 22, 1978; her daughter: Amanda Pennington and her husband, Dustin of Pendleton; her son: Scott McDonough of Connersville, two grandchildren: Luke and Addison Pennington of Pendleton whom she adored, her parents Lee and Wanda Cornett of Connersville, several aunts, an uncle, many very special cousins and a special friend Deb Huff.
Carolyn was born May 31, 1955 and was a 1973 graduate of Connersville High School. She earned a Bachelor degree in Business Administration from Ball State and later a Bachelor degree in Elementary Education from Indiana University East. She taught at various elementary schools in the area until she began a full time position at Temple Christian School where she taught 4th grade until she was diagnosed with cancer. Carolyn was a member of Connersville Baptist Temple and was a joy to be around. Everyone who knew her, loved her. She could light up a room with one smile, and make you laugh when no one else could. She will be deeply missed.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Myers Chapel, Connersville, with George Nester of the Connersville Baptist Temple officiating. Interment will follow in Dale Cemetery, section G. Friends may visit at the funeral home from 10 a.m. Friday until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ovid Community Church, 793 E 600 S., Anderson, IN 46013.
