My deepest condolences to the family of my lifelong friend whom I loved dearly. Unfortunately will not be there to attend services but my heart and prayers are with you all. Rest in peace my friend with whom I shared so much. Love you so much💕💕💕

Regina was the first person to welcome us to the neighborhood when we moved here 40 years ago.   She had a Christmas gathering that year to introduce us to some of the other long time neighbors and we thought it was so gracious of her. Throughout the years she was always a presence in our lives.  Every year, as soon as our Christmas lights were up, we could expect a telephone call from Regina telling us how much she was enjoying the view from across the street.  So many happy memories of a good person.

One of my earliest memories of Regina was in her Congers driveway, tucking William and I into the backseat of her Mustang - and making sure we were all wearing our seatbelts - I'm talking  about many, many years before we all learned how important seatbelts were, and way, way, way before it was the law to wear them.  
I thought from a very young age that Regina was beautiful.   Then - in the early to mid 70's and even before that, from the wedding photo that hung in her half of Nannie & PopPop's house, of her as a young bride with her first husband, Bill, William's father.   She looked  timelessly stunning in that photo and I often wondered as a child why God would take such a young, handsome man and new husband like Bill, away from his bride and their child-to-be?  It made me feel sad for Regina.   But Regina never appeared sad to me.  To me she seemed happy, confident and eternally cool.   Cool in every good, positive way.  I thought she was even a "cool mom" to William - again, way before anyone knew that being cool to your kids was an OK thing to be.     I remember the Salonia family bar-b-q's in the backyard.   They had a good yard to catch lightning bugs in, and even a lake at their next-door neighbors'.   Attire was always backyard-casual, even though it was the 70's - and Regina's staple "casual" outfit:  a moomoo with Dr. Scholl's sandals!  To me, she looked glamorous!   I am so serious!  She had this head of thick, bouncy, wavy hair and wore probably next to no makeup, but she didn't need any:  She was beautiful.  Like a "Charlie's Angel" -  Hip and cool, confident and sassy, beautiful and glamorous, and even a Mom to boot!   And this was all before she met Berto.  Her soulmate.   Berto's love perfectly  accentuated Regina's beauty, & I believe she believed she had found her prince charming.  They were a most loving, beautiful couple.  May they both rest in peace, together, beautifully.
