David P. Burke

David P. Burke went home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 6, 2013 at the age of 58. He was born on July 15, 1954 to David and Eileen Burke. In 1988 David moved to Rockland County with his wife to start a family. He was a Senior Editor at NBC Universal for 25 years and earned 4 Emmy Awards for his outstanding and creative talent while working on numerous Olympic events all over the world as well as the French Open, the US Open and the Ryder Cup. Dave was a devoted husband and father whose wife and children meant everything to him. He was deeply involved in every aspect of their lives. He is survived by his wife Gloria, sons Michael and Andrew and daughter Victoria, all of Valley Cottage, NY. He is also survived by his mother, Eileen Burke. He was the oldest brother of five: Cliff, Peggy, Jeanette and Patrick. He was a wonderful uncle to Chris, Elena, Andrea, John, Joseph, Gabby, Nicholas, Gianna, Katerina and Christos. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in David’s name to Smile Train, PO Box 96231, Washington, D.C. 20090-6231. Family will receive visitors on Thursday from 7-9pm and Friday from 2-4 and 7-9pm at Michael J. Higgins Funeral Service Inc, 113 Lake Road East, Congers, NY. Mass will take place on Saturday at St. Paul’s Church at 9:30am. A private cremation will follow.
