He was born in Brighton, MA on March 5, 1932 the son of William H. Hilton Sr. and Hazel (Sabean) Hilton. Soon afterward his family moved to Hopkinton NH where he attended and graduated school prior to joining the United States Air Force and serving honorably in the Korean War.
He was a longtime resident of Bow and had recently moved to Webster. He was the co-owner of the New Hampshire Bindery on Main St in Concord for many years prior to his retirement in 1995. Bill's list of accomplishments is too long to list, but a few notable ones were; served as a Bow Town Selectman, was a founding member and director of the Bow Mills Bank, and served as president for the Bow Men’s Club, Bow Pioneer Snowmobile Club and the Bow Rotary Club where he received the prestigious Paul Harris Award
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Alice E. Hilton (Gagne) who resides in Webster.
Bill’s remaining family includes his sister, Barbara Grady of Frost Proof FL; daughter Cathy and her husband Randy Caswell of Wilton NH; son, Larry Hilton and his wife Michelle of Webster NH; 6 grandchildren, Danielle Clay of Hopkinton NH, Tim Hilton of Hopkinton NH, Ashley Ordway of Webster NH, David Caswell of Wilton CT, Tina Beaulieu of Henniker NH and Caileigh Caswell of Wilton NH; 8 great grandchildren Skylar, Aidan, Hailey, Harper, Harley, Jada, Larkin and Mia.
Visiting hours will be on Thursday, May 19 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Bennett Funeral Home (yellow building), 209 N. Main St. Concord. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 20 at the Bow Mills United Methodist Church, 505 South St, Bow NH. Interment will follow at the Evans Cemetery in Bow. Afterward, the family is inviting people back to the church for a reception to celebrate Bill’s life with them.
