BOW, NH - Elsie Ruth Ordway, a longtime resident of Bow, passed away Monday evening, March 27, 2017, at Presidential Oaks in Concord, NH. She was born in Boylston, MA, the daughter of Charles and Helen (Aucoin) Mardirosian.
She attended Commerce High School in Boylston and post-secondary studies at the local community college. She married James R. Ordway of Bow, NH. Elsie was an active member of the Bow Mills United Methodist Church and enjoyed working the annual craft fairs and monthly church suppers. She was fond of her craft work which included knitting, stitching and the assembly of her favorite kitchen towel sets.
She served in many positions for the church including the United Methodist Women group, Bookkeeper/Treasurer, Sunday school teacher and sang as a member of the choir.
Elsie was employed as Bookkeeper/Accountant for Evans Radio in Bow for many years until its closing. She continued her professional career as Bookkeeper/Accountant for Graybar Electric of Boston, MA in the Manchester, NH office until she retired.
She was predeceased by her parents, one sister, Grace Fazio, two brothers, Allen Mardirosian and Charles Mardirosian and her husband James R. Ordway.
Members of Elsie’s family include her brother, Donald Mardirosian; two sons, Dana Ordway and Dennis Ordway and his wife, Barbara; 3 grandchildren, Daniel Ordway, Denise Paul and her husband, William, and Shane Ordway and his wife, Nikola; great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 3rd at 10:30am at the Bow Mills United Methodist Church, 505 South St. Bow, NH followed by a committal service at Evans Cemetery in Bow, NH.
