Carole had been a lifelong resident of Concord. She graduated from Concord High School, class of 1955, and went on to attend some classes at Plymouth State College. She met her husband, Wayne E. French, at the family store, French’s Radio, TV & Music.
Carole loved the arts, from painting to square and ballroom dancing. She was passionate about music, and was in a musician’s group with her husband. Carole was creative, and enjoyed working with her hands – particularly in gardening, preparing Halloween costumes, teaching ceramics, and painting furniture. She was health conscious and found the benefits of holistic health. Carole was also involved in her children’s activities, volunteering as a den leader of cub scouts pack 295. She worked as an Avon lady, NH Highway Hotel, Crotched Mountain Rehabilitation Center, and a sales associate at JC Penney.
She is survived and missed by her children, Betsy Voth and husband Jerry of Port Saint Joe, FL, Gary French and wife Diane of Webster, NH, Laurie Walters and husband Gregory of Encinitas, CA, and Brian French and wife Linda of Calabasas, CA; her sister Lynn Allen and husband Fred of Plymouth, NH; brother Jeffery Spoor and Gail of Concord, NH; 7 grandchildren and 3 great- grandchildren.
Carole is predeceased by her husband, Wayne E. French; and her parents Malcolm and Madelyn (Calkin) Spoor.
Services will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions be made in the name of Carole S. French to support the Payson Center for Cancer Care at Concord Hospital. Contributions can be mailed to Concord Hospital Trust, 250 Pleasant St., Concord, NH, 03301 or made online at ch-trust.org.
