Vijayalakshmi Pandrangi (nee Buddhiraju), age 83, passed away Sunday, November 10, 2024 in Dublin, Ohio. She was born on April 17, 1941 in Bhimavaram, India to the late Ramabrahman Buddhiraju and Subbayamma Manchiraju.
Vijaya was an accomplished educator, beloved wife and mother, and an adored grandmother. She held two undergraduate degrees – in Arts and Education – and had a thriving career as a teacher and a Principal of an all-girls high school. She was widely respected not only for her teaching prowess but also for her compassion. She led the initiative to establish a lunch program that served children from underprivileged communities that attended her school.
She was a phenomenal mother – someone who never raised her voice but managed to influence her childrens’ choices through sheer love. Her love for her children was only exceeded by her love for the grandchildren.
She was an avid reader who enjoyed crossword puzzles, Sudoku, and could carry off any color across the spectrum.
At 4’ 8”, she took up little space, spoke gently, and walked lightly on the earth. But as she departs, she leaves behind an enormous hole in the lives of her loved ones.
Vijaya will be greatly missed by her children – Jayasree (Ganesh), Srilatha (Raghu), Srinivas (Suma) – grandchildren (Rohit, Nidhi, Surya and Rishi), siblings (Seshagiri Rao, Lakshmi, Bharathi, Saroja, Satyanarayana Rao) and a large extended family and friends.
In addition to her parents, Vijayalakshmi was preceded in death by her husband Seshachalam Pandrangi and siblings Sundari and Kumari.
Visitation will be held from 11 AM-1 PM on Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at SCHOEDINGER MIDTOWN, 229 E. State Street, Columbus, Ohio 43215, followed by a service with family and cremation at 1 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Vijaya’s favorite cause
