Susan Marie Ryan

Susan M. Ryan, age 67 of Upper Arlington, passed away Friday, August 6, 2021. Susan was born in Dayton and grew up in Kettering, daughter of Joyce (Gelhaus) Ryan and the late John Kelley Ryan. Also preceded in death by her brother, John Ryan. Susan graduated from Archbishop Alter High School and received her Bachelor degree in Finance from the University of Cincinnati. She retired as an IT Manager following 40 years of dedicated service with Scotts Miracle Gro. Susan loved to travel, was an excellent cook, and truly was the best hostess. She was caring and loving, organized and creative, and had the most beautiful laugh anyone could imagine. Susan had the ability to make everyone feel special and make every event better than the last. Above all else, Susan loved and cherished her family, her friends and enjoyed spending time together with them. She will be greatly missed by her loving husband, Timothy Ryan; son, Sean (Elizabeth) Ryan; granddaughter, Riley Ryan; mother, Joyce Ryan; sister, Kathleen (Bob) Bledsoe; father-in-law, Robert Ryan; brother and sisters-in-law, Kevin Ryan, Connie (Timothy) Dall, and Molly (Chris) Cain; and many other extended family members and dear friends. Memorial service will be held at 4 P.M. Thursday, August 12, 2021 with visitation immediately following until 8 P.M. at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST, 1740 Zollinger Rd. Guest are respectfully required to wear masks. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the James Cancer Hospital & Solove Research Institute or to Honor Flight Columbus in Susan’s memory.
