Susan Beth Cantor

Susan Beth Schaal Cantor, 46, passed away in the early morning of October 30, 2021. Susan was born on July 15, 1975, in Youngstown, Ohio. She was the daughter of the late Robert A. Schaal and Rita Conti Anderson. Susan had resided in Columbus since 2000 after marrying her husband Derek J Cantor and was a 1993 graduate of Boardman High School. Susan was self-proclaimed "Princess", and her darling personality and sweet smile were perfect for the title; making friends and lighting up rooms wherever she went. However, her true passion in life was animals. Susan dedicated the last eight years of her life to the rescue I Have a Dream Rescue Organization (IHADRO) where she was a founding member and a current member of the board of directors. She worked tirelessly helping to rescue and find forever homes for bully breeds in the Columbus area. Susan was very proud of the organization and her critical role with the group. Besides her beloved husband Derek, and their fur babies Lucy and Toby; Susan leaves behind her mother Rita and her husband, Dale Anderson, her sister Kathy (Mark)Griffin, Trisha (Keith) Love and brother Steven Anderson; eight nephews, three nieces and many other loving friends, family and honorary nephews and nieces. Susan was preceded in death by her father Robert A. Schaal, her brother Dr. Robert J. Schaal, and her grandparents Robert and Lois Schaal and Louis and Helen Conti. Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 9th, 2021, from 6:00 PM at Schoedinger Funeral and Cremation Service located at 5554 Karl Rd, Columbus, OH 43229. Guests are respectfully asked to wear a mask and attendance will be monitored to ensure safety for everyone attending. A Memorial Service will be held in Susan's hometown of Boardman on Friday, November 26th at St. James Meeting House in Boardman Park at 5:00PM. A private burial will take place at Boardman Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the National Kidney Foundation (kidney.org) or to the rescue where Susan devoted her time IHADRO
