Sharon Elizabeth Shelton was born on August 28, 1936 in Columbus, Ohio where she lived with her brother, Frank JR. and her parents, Frank B and E Sybil McClelland. She graduated from Upper Arlington High School in 1954 where she was a cheerleader in her junior and senior years. She was initiated into Pi Beta Phi Sorority, Ohio Beta Chapter, in 1958 at The Ohio State University where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene, a career she pursued at various times in her life. Sharon followed in the footsteps of her beloved mother in her love and dedication to Pi Beta Phi. She served on The House Board, Alumni Advisory Committee and in the local Alumni Club. Her Pi Beta Phi sisters were dear to her heart and friends for her adult lifetime.
Sharon is survived by her three children, Leslie Shelton Grigorenko (husband Raymond) of Boulder, Montana; Scott Shelton, (wife Mary) of Roswell Georgia; and Mike Shelton (wife Daneen), of Thornton Colorado; and grandchildren Nicolas, Krista and Erik Grigorenko, and Jordan, Taylor and Jarret Shelton (Wife Macey); and great grandchildren, Kelis and Kacey Jones and many dear friends she made in her lifetime in Columbus.
Sharon enjoyed and was gifted with beautiful and lasting friendships in her fellowship groups where she found inspiration and strength. Those of us who were blessed to have her as part of our lives will truly miss her love, compassion, and zest for life.
