It is pretty rare that you enjoy the company of your friends little brother however Scott was the exception.  Mark and i were friends at Hastings but Scott was the coolest lil brother who played drums and was all about Rush.  It is April of 2011 and I just found this out and am stunned.  I had no idea of his passing and this world is at a loss.  However I take comfort in the knowing he is with our Savior and with his Mom who also knew the Lord.  May Jesus watch over your family Scott and give them comfort knowing that it was time for you to come home.  Prayers for your family and may His protection sustain your family till you are re united on a glorious day.

It took me awhile to be able to write on behalf of Scott, but I feel that I am ready today.  
I love you Scott!!!! You brought so much joy, laughter and love to my life!!!!  You made me laugh often and brought out the best in me!!!! Not to mention, you were always there when I needed you!!!  That was Scott!   I must say that unless you really love someone you really can't have true feelings for them.  It's hard to describe, but you know when you have true love.  I guess I was a lucky girl!  I got to experience something that I thought would never happen to me.  I met Scott and and we flirted with eachother at a restaurant called Colorado Cattle Company. (Fishinger Rd, in Upper Arlington).  All that matters is that is I am very blessed and lucky to have been with someone that I can say I truly loved!   Again ---Lucky and Blessed!  Thanks Lord! To be with God!

Everyone keeps talking about Scott playing the drums. I love it!!!---  He loved hearing me play the viola and piano (3rd grade level nowadays), but he was one heck of a drummer!!!  Rush was his favorite band.  Becuase of the drums of course!!! I tried to play the drums -  some days I had some rhythm, but I could not grasp it like he did.  I always told him I feel like one of the Muppets. Crazy with the "Sticks".   When I brought Scott to my parents home for the first time as my date (dinner of course), my father said I thought you would marry a musician. Ha! Ha!  As if drummers weren't musicians.   Scott looked downard and then looked at him with a confused face.  My dad laughed, but he knew I was smitten over him.   I was speechless.  My father was just seeing how he would react.  We all laughed!!! My dad knew Scott loved the drums and he was very proud of his talent.   Dad being an OSU alumni band member like Scott ----he had like the commonality (spelling)!  :)  

My mom and dad were very close to Scott and shared many special moments together.  Mom and Scott had a very similiar sense of humor.  Mom loved to hang out with him and they would drink coffee in the mornings.  They had wonderful conversations about life, movies and family throughout the day.  They not only thought of him as a son-in-law, but really as a son/best friend.  Scott used to do the crossword puzzles in my parents kitchen every morning with his reading glasses hanging half-way down his nose.  Mom and Dad would crack jokes with him.  He always had a smerk on his face as they did sooo.  Sometimes, I think they were making fun of me.  They tried to push my buttons, but I really didn't care.  It was all fun for them and me.

They were in tears to lose a great "son-in-law".   Mom and Dad  ---- he loved you sooo much!  I must say - you made a big difference in his life - you gave him so much love and laughter!!!!!You taught him so much.  He always wanted to be on the phone when we were in Florida when I was talking to you and he would just grab that phone out of my hand in the middle of our conversatios because he had to talk to you!   I was like - Honey!!                      Ha!  Ha!  

My brother, Eric, loved to hang out with him and Julia always treated him like a brother.  Scott was definitely a member of the Strouse family!  He always spoke highly of Eric and Julia.  Everytime he hung out with them he always commented when we were back in Florida that he really enjoyed being with them.  Thanks Julia, Eric, Mom and Dad for loving him so much.

Scott and his family were very tight!  They used to stand around talking about things that girls just coudn't relate to sometimes.  Or maybe just me.  (Well - I always heard them talk at the tail end of their conversations).  Got to be there to understand.  He used to talk about living at home with them when they were younger.  Soo many great stories.  

Simpsons was always a big hit in the Blazek family back in the day.  They were always quoting things from movies or sitcoms or what-not!  Dr. Blazek and Scott lived together when he moved back to Ohio.  They were a hoot!  Boy I will tell you that was one of the best days of Scott's life.  He got to be wit

I remember Scott from Hastings through UAHS and Ohio State.  A fun person to be around, a good wrestler, excellent percussionist, and a class act.  I just heard the tragic news today and was deeply saddened for his family's loss.  I know that Scott and his mother are enjoying their time together, sharing, smiling, and laughing.  He will be truly missed.  My family's deepest condolences to his wife and friends.

I knew Scott a long time ago and grew up with him in UA.  I'm sorry to hear about your loss and have fond memories of a great guy.

We knew Scott through our daughter Katja. He and Katja were high school friends and both went to attend OSU. Katja passed away 6 years ago and now we learn that Scott has been taken away. Our fond memories of them will last.

This is the band Wonder Bread which was together for about a year and played at various campus bars and fraternity parties at OSU around '91.  I cannot remember the names of the guys it's been so long (almost 20 years!) and I was a FIJI, not Sigma Chi, but I do remember their part in the band, from left to right:  rhythm and acoustic guitar, me keyboards and vocals, lead singer and guitarist, Scott on drums, and the bass player.  Even though our time playing together was short, it was good jamming with you Scott.  My condolences to the family.

I didn't know Scott as long as most, but we made the most of our time together. He and I were hired at Emery at the same time, about ten years ago. We instantly hit it off as our personalities and interests were very similar. For the next two years, we worked together every day, hung out at BW's most evenings and even lived together in an apartment. It was an instantaneous friendship that was built upon our nearly identical senses of humor and mutual desire to make others laugh. The best, was when we would make each other laugh... which happened frequently. Few things were as pleasing to me as doing or saying something that would elicit that sudden, loud, baritone guffaw that was the sure sign that Scott was genuinely amused. Scott was a great friend and someone with whom I could share anything. He was extremely talented, intelligent and loyal. I will miss him as I would miss a brother. We made the most of our short time together and I'll never forget how much he made me laugh. If only I could hear that baritone guffaw one more time.

Though it has been a number of years since I've seen Scott, I remember his warm smile and kind nature well.  He was one of the first people I met when I moved to UA during the middle of 4th grade, and even then, he was sweet, welcoming, and genuine.  He was a friend to everyone and he was loved by everyone he knew...what a privilege it is say that Scott Blazek was my friend.  My thoughts and prayers are with the entire Blazek family during this difficult time...may you find comfort in knowing how much Scott was loved and how much he will be missed.

The first time I met Scott was over 15 years ago. He hung out with Paul and I over Christmas break. We used to tease him and call him Bob from the movie "What about Bob?" because if he wasn't at the house with us, he was calling to see what we were doing. Scott was always funny and made you feel important and loved. I know how much all of his Arlington friends love him and he will be severely missed. Scott....as you did for everyone you met during your brief time here on earth, I just know you are making them smile up there.  Especially, your mom.  We love you.

There are too many good memories to fully count.  Scott taught me to ride a motorcycle, was my confidant in a very tough personal time, bought me my first gyro and sparred with me on movie lines.  He always gave his best to his friends, his time to his passions and his pleasant nature to all.  I can't explain how much he will be missed.

I have many fond memories of Scott starting in CCD class (Sunday school) and continuing on for many years. Of those memories one comes to mind with such vivid detail. Scott volunteered to roast a pig for a work function. We dug the pit, added charcoal, Metal sheeting and of course the pig. we covered it up and left for the night. We returned in the Morning and uncovered what was to be a culinary master piece. Something had gone wrong, very wrong, the pig was completely gone. Apparently we had used to much Charcoal. Even with the stress of the pending work function and no pig, Scott found a way to laugh. I will always remember that moment, and smile. 
Scott, you are now and will be forever missed.

Every memory of Scott brings a smile to my face. He began teasing me in elementary school - it was an affectionate teasing that continued all the way through high school. Scott was a genuine, kind-hearted soul and I will always remember him as a clever grade-schooler, educating me on the merits of Led Zepplin and AC/DC. While its been many years since I've seen him, I recently thought of him when my daughter sat for the first time in front of a drum set in her music class. RIP Scott, we miss you.

Truly a memorable guy.  Though it has been years, I still remember Scott well, partnering up in Ms. Gongwer's Home Ec. class.  Random, but the memory has lasted the year.   The class did an experiment on how it was to communicate with someone who wasn't paying attention, and then the next 5 minutes was.  That 5 minutes where he had to be distant and not pay attention seemed so far out of his character, and it was almost like a relief to have it end.  High School would be my last memory of Scott, but truly he had a way of making everybody part of his world.  Thoughts are with all the Blazek family.

I have many fond memories of Scott.  Memories from wrestling, football games, school and hanging out.  Scott was one of the good guys.  My deepest sympathy to his family.

Mike and I were  so shocked and sad to hear about Scotts passing.  He was such a great friend to have and he will be missed.    I have been looking over the many photos we have of us all and although they make me sad now, I know in time they will make me smile again.  I love you scott!

It had been a long time since I had the chance to see Scott, but I'll always remember my pledge Brother and living across the hall from him at the Sig House.   From the video of him going to Dairy Mart, his red Honda in the parking lot, to him leading our pledge class in singing....just so many great memories. Scott - You were a classmate, Fraternity Brother, roommate, and most importanty...my friend.  I am touched by the several hundred comments that others have written.  You were a friend to many, and you always had a way of putting a smile on one's face.  I will always remember our double lunches playing Ninetendo at my house in High School, campouts at Popskie's farm, and the Sigma Chi days.  My most fond memory will always be the RV trip to Cinci...enough said.  My heart goes out to Natalie, and the Blazek family.  "Guard well...".

As a fellow "Bandie" Scott ALWAYS made things infinitely more interesting, just by his being there. I think every girl had a crush on the hunk who played the drums. So many memories from growing up in the same hood, it's impossible not to remember everything about Scott as being cool.  Such deep loss we feel, but my sympathies go especially to the Blazek family.  May God bring you peace in this time of great sadness.

As a former football player at UA I vividly remember Scott leading the drumline during our games and getting the crowd to go wild.  We had a lot of great times in college and every time I saw him throughout the years he always had that great smile and was he was so genunine.  We lost a great man and I'm proud he was my friend. My immediate memory is of you and Sipp conjuring up crazy ideas for a scavenger hunt carried out long ago.  You were one of the good ones, Scott, rest in peace.  I haven't seen you in probably 15 years, yet I still feel like I lost a friend.  My condolences to the Blazek family.

I was lucky enough to have Scott as my next door neighbor. He was the kind of man you could always count on for anything no matter how big or small. he would give you the shirt off of his back if you needed it. I and my family will miss him dearly. I will always smile when I think of Scott -- so many memories!  I'll never forget one Halloween when we decided to switch identities -- Scott wore one of my outfits (including a skirt and makeup) and I wore his jeans and UA letter jacket. I had not seen Scott for many years but remember what a wonderful person he was.  I also remember seeing him in the OSU marching band when we were freshmen and thinking it was like watching a celebrity.  :)    What a great loss......all of the Blazek family is in my prayers.

My day turned sad when I heard the news.  Scott and I would exchange books when we worked together and I have hundreds of books with his "horrible" handwritten notes and phone numbers.  I'd get so mad at him for writing in them.  But now when I read the books again and see his handwriting I will smile. Natalie and the rest of your family are in my thoughts.  RIP Scott....I'll cheer for Ohio State when they're playing :)!!!

I came across a letter in early Aug. of this year that Scott had written me back in highschool after his Mom had passed.  I had kept it in an old scrapbook from h.s. days.  I didn't even remember him writing that letter to me but upon finding it, I was so touched at how sweet it was and close we were at that time.  I know that I was going through a hard time at that time and he also with his Mom.  He had expressed his gratitude to me for being there for him.  He was so close to his Mom.  I will always love Scott for the friendship and laughter he brought into my life.  He was a special guy for sure.  I hope that he is hugging his Mom right now.  She was a great lady as well, who passed away way too young, also.  I guess it's true that "only the good die young" .  I miss you already Scott.

I haven't seen Scott for many years, but just the thought of him makes me smile.  He was such a warm, loving, happy person.  He made everyone feel welcome and loved.  I am so sad to hear this news.  My deepest condolences to the entire Blazek family.

I thought of Scott out of the blue a couple days ago.  I am shocked.  I'll always remember our time in OSUMB drumline, especially the time we met Miss America in the 1988 Presidential Inauguration parade in DC - and the events that led up to such an illustrious introduction.  

Scott was a good person.  I haven't seen him in 20 years, but I remember him and how he always treated me.  He was a sensitive person, with a kind heart and a friend to me in my youth.

The UA percussion section wouldn't have been as fun without Scott.  Those memories will live on! Rest in peace.

My thoughts are with the Blazek Family during this great loss.  I will miss one of my "Three Amigos".  I will never forget the time we had together on this earth and someday we will reunite brother.

Your family was my second family and I can't count the memories we all shared together growing up (Florida trip senior year, Rush concerts, or just playing the drums in the basement). Blazek was a common face at our house.  I can remember many nights around Mom's long table playing card games, monopoly and Blitz.  Scott was open, warm and funny.  The guy was just funnier than funny.  We all adored Blazek.  He was considered family and will be deeply missed.  My heart goes out to the Blazek family at this time.

Throughout the years, without fail, everytime I have thought of Scott, it makes me smile. You will be missed my friend, rest in peace.

I'm very sad hearing this news... I first me Scott in elementary school and throughout the years up to and including high school, Scott was an up-beat, energetic and friendly guy.  I remember the Hasting's talent show performance that Sipp mentions (living after midnight?) with Scott drumming.  In talking a few minutes ago with a friend and thinking about who Scott "hung out with", we concluded Scott hung around with everyone.  I'm sorry I haven't seen Scott in a long time, but I know he'll be missed.

Scott was always such a nice guy.  Great smile!  I remember Friday night football games at UA with Scott playing drums down on the track while the rest of us cheered like crazy.  I'm so sorry that he is gone and my thoughts and prayers are with his family.

First met Scott playing drums in our 8th grade talent show rock band, through high school, and onto Ohio State.  Last saw him in Columbus airport after Christmas '02 all trying to catch weather delayed flights.  Scott was always warm and friendly, even if it had been years since I'd seen him.

Scott was always someone with a smile on his face and warm things to say about everyone!  He will truly be missed!  My warmest sympathies to the Blazek family.  I know all too well how hard a time this is for you!

So many fond memories of Blazek, at a loss for words. The UAMB percussion section rocked it out when we took over my friend. Going to have to find some Genesee Cream Ale, tin of Kodiak, and a snare drum and rock out some old school drum cadences in your memory. Scott is a genuine person through and through. Scott was one of two drummers in a cover band called the Shakers.  First time I saw him perform was either in Brad Bieber's basement or possibly in a battle of the bands at United Skates of America.  Rare to meet someone talented in music, gifted as an athlete (wrestling) and a lot of fun to be around.  Can't believe he's left us and these events never make sense.  Godspeed amigo.

There are so many good memories, I don't even know where to begin or what to say.  Scott was a great friend, and a great man.  I will miss him terribly, as will so so many others.  RIP
