Sally Anderson - Brooks, 68, of Masillon, formerly of Circleville, passed away Monday, September 20, 2010 in Canton, Ohio. She was born January 14, 1942 in New Albany, Ohio, the daughter of the late Pete and Elaine (Moore) Andersen. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Anderson; and grandson, Michael Robert Porter. Sally was a fun-loving person who liked a good joke. She was a giver who enjoyed helping people whether she knew them or not. She loved being surrounded by her family and enjoyed doing crafts, playing Scrabble, going to the movies and shopping with her kids and grandkids. She was often seen in tennis shoes, sweats and a fur coat and always with a bottle of Coke. She enjoyed golfing, playing bridge and making ceramics. When she did something, she did it big and then moved on. She became a pilot and bought her own plane, then learned to make ceramics and became a ceramics instructor. In golf she was Club Champion at the Pickaway Country Club; and when fishing in Hawaii with daughter, Sheree, she caught a 121” Blue Marlin which she had mounted and flown back home to Ohio. Sally was passionate about sewing and was an excellent seamstress, evening sewing matching square dancing outfits for herself and husband, Ralph. In Florida, Sally was active in the TIP Program which provided immediate assistance to victims of rape and other violent crimes. Sally will be deeply missed by her husband of 8 years, Dean H. “Hal” Brooks of Massillon; children, Kristina (Tom) Porter, Sheree (Steve) Boyden, David Anderson, Eddie (Lisa) Anderson, Terry Shelley, Vicky (Mike) Martin, Ray (Jackie) Anderson and Scott (Peggy) Brooks; grandchildren, Logan, Shaun and Bo Porter, Stephanie, Maria, Matthew, Jessica, Jeremiah and Justin Boyden, Miriah Hoagland and Brad Anderson, Erin and Ian Anderson, Valerie Collier and Josh Shelley, Wade Martin and Michelle Ross, Stacy Cowdery and Chad Anderson and Emma Brooks; 16 great-grandchildren; sisters, Vivian (Harold) Compton and Susan (Jim) Lamoreau; brothers, Pete M. Andersen and Robert B. Anderson; numerous nieces and nephews; and her faithful canine companion, Cosmos. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm, Friday, September 24, 2010 at Defenbaugh-Wise-Schoedinger Funeral Home with
