Russell Thacker

Russell Thacker, Jr. age 76, died Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at his residence. Russell was born in Newtown, WV on May 23, 1937, the son of Bessie (Scott) and Russel Thacker. He was a retired truck driver. Russell was a US Army veteran. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, the 4S Club, the American Legion Bexley Post #430 and Disabled American Veterans. Along with his parents, Russell is preceded in death by his brother Chester Thacker and great-granddaughter Makayla Stroupe. He is survived by his wife Sharon Thacker; children Tina Bowe, Charles (Cathy) Stroupe, Margie White, Georgianna Mickles and Robert Thacker; 13 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; siblings Donald Thacker, Christine (Raymond) West, Phyllis (Paul) May and William Thacker; brothers-in-law Charles and Fred Coen; friends and neighbors. Friends may call 2-5pm Sunday, July 28, 2013 at Schoedinger Midtown Chapel, 229 E. State St. Funeral service will be held at 2:00pm Monday, July 29, 2013 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 404 S. Third St., Columbus, OH 43215 with Pastor Charles Peterson officiating. Interment will follow at Obetz Cemetery. No flowers please.
