Roberta D. Wood, age 97, passed away Thursday, November 16, 2023. She was born on May 24, 1926 in Rendville, Ohio to the late William and Margaret (Quigley) Dawson. Roberta worked for Service Combustion in Columbus and Robbins & Meyers in Springfield. In addition to her parents, Roberta was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Virgil M. Wood; four brothers and three sisters. She is survived by niece, Carolyn Paxson, nephews, Gene (Margaret) Dawson and Jerry (Karen) Sigler; niece, Mary Murphy; many great-nieces and great-nephews; and sister-in-law, Edna Wood. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 am Monday, November 27, 2023 at Mother Angeline McCrory Manor, 5199 E Broad St, Columbus, OH 43213 with visitation one hour prior. Fr. Michael Lumpe, Celebrant. Interment to follow at Chester Cemetery in Chester, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mount Carmel Foundation, 3100 Easton Square Place, Suite 300, Columbus, OH 43219 or to The Villas at St. Therese, 5253 E.
