Rita Mary Rudak (Decker)

Rita Mary Rudak, age 93 of Columbus, passed away Monday, June 14, 2010, at Wesley Glen Retirement Community. Rita was born October 20, 1916, in Columbus and was a graduate of East High School. Rita graduated from The Ohio State University School of Social Work and took graduate courses in Education. She was a member of Sigma Alpha Sigma and Pi Lambda Delta. Rita was a caseworker at Catholic Charities in Dayton for 6 years and a teacher with Columbus Public Schools for 22 years. She coordinated religious education at St. Philip the Apostle for 3 years and was a member of St. Timothy Catholic Church. Preceded in death by her parents, John E. and Winifred E. Decker; brothers, Samuel, John, James, and Paul; sisters, Mary Bucy, Ann Baumann, and Sister Winifred Decker, OSF. Rita will be missed by her husband of 48 years, Stanley A. Rudak; brother, Bernard, and many nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial 10 am Saturday, June 19, 2010, at St. Timothy Catholic Church, 1088 Thomas Lane, Columbus, Fr. Dan Millisor, Celebrant. Entombment in St. Joseph Cemetery. Family will receive friends Friday from 4-7 pm with a Rosary service at 6:30 pm at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Rd., Columbus.
