Ray C. Whitt

He was born on April 4, 1931 to the late Robert and Pearl (Adkins) Whitt. Ray served in the United States Army, Korean War Veteran and was a member of the Johnstown VFW Post # 797. Upon returning home he married his childhood sweetheart and the two of them went on to share 59 years of marriage. He would take his family to Rice Lake, Canada to go fishing, camping and boating, while spending quality time with his family. Ray was a member of the Johnstown Christian Church for 55 years, being a past Deacon, drove the church bus and worked with the youth group.

Ray is survived by his wife Patsy, children Charles Edward (Denise) Whitt, Michael Ray Whitt, Scott Allen (Julie Ann) Whitt, Timothy Lee (Samantha) Whitt, and Kathy (John) Webb. Also surviving are his beloved grandchildren Nicole, Jeremiah, Danielle, Kira Raye, Ethan, Zachary, Lacey, Chance, Isaiah, Chris, and Tracie, adopted granddaughter Brooke and 10 great grandchildren, he has two sisters-in-law, two brothers-in-law, many nieces, nephews and friends.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his siblings Robert, Ruth and Frances.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30pm Saturday, October 1, 2011 Johnstown Christian Church, 9556 Johnstown Utica Road, where family will receive friends from 12:30 pm until time of service. Pastor Larry Hiles will be officiating. Arrangements by Criss-Schoedinger Funeral Home, 345-9715.
