Petra Jane Corson

Petra Jane Corson, age 87 of Dublin, passed away Tuesday, April 26, 2016. Petra was born in West Palm Beach, Florida, and grew up in Minnesota. She raised her family in Upper Arlington, Ohio. The daughter of the late Allen and Mary Wiggins, Petra is the beloved wife of the late William Gifford Corson. She was known for her volunteerism throughout the Columbus area serving on the Women's Board of the March of Dimes and as assistant chairman of the Hope Ball. She enjoyed a wonderful nursing career and was the primary caregiver for her mother and aunt. Petra was a very loving, caring and generous woman who always put her family first. She was an avid reader, enjoyed vacationing at Navarre Beach, Florida, and always put special emphasis on holidays making them special and memorable for all family and friends, especially her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by her children, Mary Barrow, David Corson, Becky (Mark) Jones, and William (Eileen) Corson II; grandchildren, Gerard Barrow II, Jacqueline Corson, Josh Robinson, Kaitlin Jones, Kelley Jones, William Corson III, Colleen Corson, and Daniel Corson; brother, Anthony (Rosemary) Wiggins; sister, Midge (Joel) Kerlan; her nieces and nephews and many other extended family members and dear friends. Petra was preceded in death by her loving husband of 27 years William Corson, her infant son Thomas and sisters Mary Ann Bieber and Florence Paulet. Family will receive friends from 5-8 P.M. Monday, May 2, 2016 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Rd. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 A.M. Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, 1559 Roxbury Rd.
