The family of Paul F. Albrecht is sad to announce his unexpected passing at age 68 on Monday, February 19, 2024 in Columbus, OH. The son of Ralph and Virg Albrecht, Paul was born October 3, 1955, and raised in Winona, MN. Paul was gifted in math and music and received his Masters degree from UC Berkeley in Computer Science. After a 13 year career at Bell Labs in Columbus, he and his young family moved to Cincinnati where he was involved in two successful startup companies, one of which he began with his son, Adam.
He will be sorely missed by his father, Ralph; wife, Pam; three children, Adam (Molly) Albrecht, Alison (Tim) Mahoney and Andrea (K.C.) McCluskey; and seven grandchildren: Maxwell, Thomas, Audrey, Avery, Libby, James and Sadie, and an eighth on the way. Paul is also survived by his sister, Anne (Steve) Lias, his faithful golden retriever, Scarlet, and many, many friends. He is preceded in death by his mother, Virg Albrecht.
Paul loved to stay physically active, whether it was walking Scarlet, biking, swimming, skiing or tennis. His other passions included music, traveling, spending time with his family at his lake house and drinking good wine with dear friends.
Family and friends are welcome to join us for a celebration of Paul's life on Saturday, March 9th at 4:00 PM at The Kitchen at 231 E Livingston Ave, Columbus, OH 43215.
