Patricia Boyd Hartman went to be with her Savior on February 15, 2021, after an 18-month battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born September 24, 1950 in Canton, OH to Clyde R. Boyd and Lucille (Kennedy) Boyd. She is survived by her loving husband Barry and her children Heidi-Jeanne (Eric) Rea and Daniel (Jordan Glavinos) Hartman and two grandchildren, Alexander Rea and Finlay Hartman.
She grew up in Bolivar, OH and graduated from Tuscarawas Valley High School in 1968. She was the oldest of 6 children and kept the Boyd Clan children together. She graduated from Capital University in 1972 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music and Education, and from Ohio State University with a Master of Music degree in 1975. Patty spent her life loving God and loving people and serving the Lord and others with her many talents. She sang and played piano beautifully and taught music at Newcomerstown Highschool and Northside Christian School, where she was also the librarian for many years. Patty was the choir director at Westerville Bible Church for 43 years. She ran her own music studio where she taught piano, voice, and music theory. Her music students won many competitions and awards. Among her many talents, she sewed beautiful wedding dresses, often without the need of a pattern. She was also an avid gardener. Patty loved to travel around the US and abroad to Scotland, Ireland, the Netherlands, France, Germany, and Switzerland.
She is preceded in death by her parents Clyde R. and Lucille Boyd, Grandparents Clyde A. and Martha Boyd and Robert and Nettie Kennedy. She is survived by her brothers Allan (Teresa) Boyd of Navarre, OH, Scott Boyd of Mineral City, OH and sisters Bonnie (Richard) Stuck of Uniontown, OH, Rebecca (Neil) Hartline of Massillon, OH, Jeanne (Micheal) Nicolini of Massillon, OH and many nieces and nephews.
Patty was a kind, compassionate, and lovely Christian lady. She touched the lives of many young people through music, sharing of books, and especially sharing her love of Jesus Christ.
In lieu of flowers, Patty requested that donations be made to Northside Christian School or Ohio Health Hospice. We will celebrate her life and her graduation to heaven in a small service just for the immediate family that will be livestreamed on the Facebook page of Westerville Bible Church.
