Michele A. Leavitt

Michele A. Leavitt, age 67 of Columbus passed away Tuesday, May 18, 2021 at her home. Michele was born in Columbus to the late Mary Green and the late Jack Remaly. Michele was employed by Motorist Insurance and retired after 45 years of faithful service. She was a member of American Legion Post #144, VFW Post # 4719 and Amvets Post #1314. She was a member of the Ladies' Auxiliary of these organizations where she would cook and serve dinners, many times for the Veterans. Michele was also a member of the Moose Lodge #2463. Michele was a loving and caring person who gave selflessly to others. In addition to her father, she is preceded in death by her sister Pat Montenaro. She is survived by her daughters Renee (Thomas Drake) Leavitt-Drake, Michele Carey, and Cathy Norris. Grandchildren Carl Medlar, Danielle Medlar, Michael Carey, Joseph Carey, and Christian Carey; great-grandchildren Steven Medlar, Joseph Charles III, Noah Carey, Benjamin Carey, Alexander Carey, Tyler Hanson, Matthew Fields, Anastasia Carey, and Isabella Carey; as well as sister Jill Remaly. In keeping with Michele's wishes there will be no services. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Michele's memory to the Wounded Warriors Project.
