Marvin Edward King entered this world on December 14, 1931 and went home in peace to his Lord on February 23, 2021 at the age of 89. Son of the late Harvey and Ruth (Phillips) King, Marvin shared life with Charlotte (Stangle) King, his wife of 69 years, who survives. Marvin has 2 children, son, Michael King of Columbus, and daughter, Judy (King) Sanchez of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida; grandchildren, Angela (Sanchez) Knutson, Fernando Sanchez, and Joseph Sanchez; and 4 great grandchildren.
Marvin was raised in Johnstown, Ohio. He married Charlotte on November 12, 1951, served in the US Army, then raised his family in Newark, Heath, and Johnstown, Ohio before moving to Columbus. Marvin worked for Kaiser Aluminum prior to starting his own business, King Cartage Company, where he worked until he retired. Marvin was a lifelong Ohio State Football fan, an avid reader, and a dog lover who enjoyed dancing with his wife and friends. At the close of his days, the faith that had taken root years earlier culminated in a peaceful sleep, as Marvin left the world to be with Jesus. Family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 2, 2021 from 5pm-7pm at SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST, 1051 E Johnstown Rd, Gahanna, Ohio 43230, where a funeral service will also be held the following morning, on Wednesday, March 3, 2021 at 11am. A livestream of the service will be available at https://webcasts.lifetributes.com/1123863.
