Martha (Marty) Myers passed away peacefully on Friday afternoon, April 3, 2020, almost one month after her 82nd birthday. She was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, but moved to Columbus, Ohio, when she was seven years old. She is the daughter of Martha Degenhart Myers and James C. Myers, Sr. Marty graduated from North High School and Ohio State University and went on to teach kindergarten for Columbus Public Schools. She moved to Boston, Massachusetts, where she enjoyed a 26-year career in the administration offices of the First Church of Christ Scientist. After her retirement she worked in daycare nurseries where she reveled in all “her” babies. She returned to Columbus to be with family. This includes two nephews, Jon (Renee) Myers and Phil (Lori) Myers and one niece, Amy (Terry) Tibbals all of whom she loved very much. She also leaves behind 5 beautiful grand-nieces, Jennifer (Daniel) Guerra, Emily (Will) Barrett, and Emily and Katie and Liz Tibbals, and one great-nephew, Max Myers. Her great grand nephews and nieces are Dylan, Myers, Julian and Mia Guerra and Olive and Austin Barrett whose pictures on Facebook were her great delight. Marty will be sorely missed by her brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Carol Myers. There will be no memorial service, but Marty’s ashes will be scattered at Ogunquit, Maine this summer. Our thanks to Schoedinger for their kind services and to the staff of The Laurels of Norworth for their care of Marty for the last four years.
