Martha Evelyn Robey Mattox, age 79, went home to be with the Lord on February 3, 2014. She was born on August 27, 1934 in Lynchburg, VA to the late J. Elwood Pendleton Robey and Elsie Reynolds Robey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Catherine Harrison Grady. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, James A. Mattox, her children Martha Lynn Mattox-Baker, James A. Mattox, Jr., Mary Beth (Tom) Haner and Robyn (Eric) Morton; her grandchildren William (Lovanna) Nimmo, James (Christina) Nimmo, Karyn Baker; Branden, John and Alex Haner and Leah and Owen Morton; and six great grandchildren. Martha graduated from high school at Southern Seminary and Junior College, Buena Vista, VA. She received her bachelor's degree from the College of William and Mary, Williamsburg, VA. She taught elementary school in Richmond and special needs children for the State of Virginia in Lynchburg. Martha was a member of Grace Brethren Church for 28 years and attended Karl Road Baptist Church. She loved the Buckeyes, western square dancing, traveling and camping (especially to Myrtle Beach the first two weeks in June with her children and grandchildren.) She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She will be forever missed. Family will receive friends Thursday, February 6, 2014 from 4-6 PM at SCHOEDINGER NORTH CHAPEL, 5554 Karl Rd. and from 9 AM until time of service Friday, February 7, 2014 at 10 AM.
