Loretta was born in Mineral City, Ohio and spent most of her life in Columbus before moving to Biloxi in 2012 to live near her son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Joy Brown. Other survivors include daughters Sandra Taladay and Linda Tucker, grandchildren Jeff Taladay, Andrea Taladay, Tracy Samanich (Pat), Jason Tucker (Janell) and great-grandchildren Amber Taladay, Mason Taladay, Evelyn Samanich, Caroline Samanich, Makayla Tucker, Maggie Tucker, Malachi Tucker and Macie Tucker. She is preceded in death by her husband of 48 years James T. Brown Sr. and sons-in-law Don Taladay and Jay Tucker.
Loretta, 86, was retired from Schottenstein Stores Corp., where she worked for 30 years, much of that time with daughter Linda at the former Northern Lights store. She was a rare nondriver by choice, but that never stopped her from getting where she wanted to go. And where she wanted to go was wherever her family and friends were gathered - especially if bingo or a hot game of euchre was involved.
Loretta's life will be celebrated in calling hours on Sunday from 5 to 8 p.m. and in a funeral service Monday at 11 a.m., both at Schoedinger Funeral Home Northeast Chapel, 1051 E Johnstown Rd, Gahanna. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery; Pastor Jason Tucker (grandson), officiating.
Those who wish may contribute in Loretta's memory to NorthRock Church, P.O. Box 1921, Ann Arbor, MI 48106 or through the church website: www.northrock.tv.
