Lewis Clifton

Lewis Edgard “Dick” Clifton, age 83, passed away peacefully in his home on November 30, 2018. He was born October 20, 1935 to his parents Ned and Marie (Clark) in Circleville, Ohio. He was a simple and quiet man who loved hunting, fishing and the outdoors. He enjoyed his life’s work as a self-employed Carpenter for many years. He will be dearly missed by his friends and family.

Dick is preceded in death by his sons Scott Clifton and Gary Vandermark; his siblings twins Paul and Pauline Clifton, George (Betty) Clifton, Betty (Guy) Jacobs and Mary (Ged) Dresaugh.

Left to mourn his passing are his children Mathew (Tami) Clifton, Grant Clifton Sr., and Deanita (Reg) Carroll; his sisters Patty (Richard) Hilderbrand and Norma (Smoke) Mogan; his grandchildren Natasha (Nate) Hart, Amber Clifton, Cassie (Jordie) Wonderleigh, Nicole Scurlock, Grant (Kayla Neiberline) Clifton Jr., Shawn (Tasha) Clifton, Kevin (Jeanie) Clifton, Christyn (Devon Ratliff) Clifton, Chase (Cierra) Carroll, and Chelsea (Logan) Groves; as well as his great-grandchildren Corbyn and Charlee Hart, Kaden Clifton, Timmy Kish, Aubree Wonderleigh, Mikey, Alex, Tesla, and Austin Clifton, Kayla, Cayden, Shayanne and Kinna Clifton, Colton and Calli Carroll and Millie and P.J. Groves.

Visitation will be held at Defenbaugh-Wise-Schoedinger Funeral Home, located at 151 East Main Street Circleville, on Tuesday, December 4 from 10am to noon. Dick’s funeral service will follow at noon with Jim Ferrell officiating. Burial will follow at Tarlton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Pickaway County Dog Shelter in his honor.
