Kenneth Alvin Green, age 71, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2009. He was born in Columbus to the late Frederick and Ruth Green on Feb. 26, 1938. Kenny began his lifelong career as a dedicated firefighter at Franklin Twp., then faithfully served on the City of Columbus Fire Dept. for 26 years, retiring as Captain. During his time at Columbus, he also served as co-founder and Assistant Chief of Pleasant Twp. Fire Dept., and then moved to Jefferson Twp. Fire Dept. where he served and retired as Chief. He was currently the part-time Administrator of Jefferson Twp. Kenny is survived by his wife of 43 years, Minnie Green; daughter, Jody (Green) McCague; grandchildren, Brian, Steven and Stephanie McCague; sister, Vicky (Raymond) Baer; uncle James (Faye) Gloyd; aunt, Mildred Brady; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends. Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday at SCHOEDINGER NORRIS CHAPEL, 3920 Broadway, Grove City. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 4, 2009, at the funeral home.
