Karen Carter, age 74, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, September 14, 2021, at Mt. Carmel Grove City. She was preceded in death by her parents; Jerry and Esther (Bluhm) Fridley, her loving husband of 37 years, Robert Bruce Carter, sister; Saunie Fridley. She is survived by her children; Jerry Wright, Nikki Wright, granddaughter; Lynsey Wright. She is also survived by Bruce's children; Diana (Mark) Garrett, Don (Brenda) Carter, Threasa Mernedakis, Tonya Leasure, Rich (Krista) Carter, and his 33 grandchildren. Karen retired from the Bureau of Motor Vehicles in 1996 with over 25 years of service. She was a part of the Grace of God Lutheran Church for over 25 years and was the Director of their prayer chain. Karen was the Queen of the Buckeye Belles Chapter of the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed putting puzzles together and was an avid scrapbooker. Most notably she and Bruce would play Santa and Mrs. Claus at homes in need and nonprofit facilities where they touched many lives and made so many children smile at a difficult time in their young lives. A visitation time will be held on Monday, September 20, 2021, from 4-7 pm at SCHOEDINGER GROVE CITY. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 21, 2021, at 1pm at the Grace of God Lutheran Church 1000 Demorest Rd. Columbus, OH 43204 with Pastor Mark Diemer officiating. Interment will take place at Greenlawn Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Grace of God Lutheran Church.
