John G. Pierce

John spent over 50 years as an educator, including in the Benjamin Logan, River Valley, and Groveport-Madison Districts, as well as having served as an Adjunct Professor of Languages at Columbus State Community College, and 12 years as a substitute teacher at Grove City Christian School. He was a free-lance writer, with many published articles to his credit, and was often cited by other writers. John also acted as a proofreader for various friends who are authors. In addition, he taught Bible classes for many years. In 1969 John earned a Bachelor’s degree from Capital University, and in 1976 a Master of Education degree from Ohio University.

He is survived by his widow wife Karen of 51 years, as well as many friends, members of the Refinery Church family, and the senior group JOY in which he and Karen participated.

Memorial Service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, July 30, 2022 at Refinery Church of the Nazarene, 3915 Dublin Road, Columbus, Ohio 43221. Service conducted by Pastors Landon Yowell and Jim Rose. Interment at Green Lawn Cemetery.
