John Frederick Morscher, age 83 of Upper Arlington, passed away Saturday, October 15, 2022. John was born in 1939, to Frank and Louise Morscher, in Berea Ohio and resided in the Cleveland area for 54 years, before moving to Upper Arlington.
John worked for General Motors for 30 years, the first 21 years at Fisher Body in Cleveland and 9 years at Fisher Guide in Columbus. But his true passion while working at GM, as well as after “retirement” was antiques. John traveled the country buying and selling antiques, specializing in print shop memorabilia and early architectural hardware. Though he could never pass up a “deal” whatever it was.
John was known for his generosity. He was always eager to help those in need of help as well as supporting his alma matter (class of 1957) Holy Name HS in Cleveland OH. One of John's favorite local charities to support was the St. Vincent DePaul society. The local grocery stores knew when he was shopping to help stock the shelves for those in need.
John is survived by his wife of 59 years, Mary Ann; five children, Greg Morscher, Mark Morscher, Michele Morscher, Elizabeth Morscher and Jessica Henz; 12 grandchildren, Adria McCullough, Ellen Rozler, Katherine Balas, Matthew Morscher, Nikki Chevalier, Autumn Gale, Julian Gale, Zachary Henz, Abigail Henz, Jacob Henz, Peter Henz and Andrew Henz; 4 great grandchildren, Lucas and Ari McCullough, Sienna Chevalier, James Rozler; and sister, Suzanne Loyd.
