She was such a beautiful soul inside and out. Loved by many and all that came across that beautiful smile and big blue eyes when she looked at you. Proceeded in death with her parents William and Genevieve VanAllen, brother Robert VanAllen, brother Bobby VanAllen, nephew Edward Murphy III and sister-in-law Judy VanAllen.
Jeannette was born in Zanesville, Ohio September 11, 1951 to William VanAllen and Genevieve (Cokonougher) VanAllen. Her family moved from Fultonham, Ohio to Whitehall OH when she was a teenager. There she continued her education at Whitehall Yearling High School Class of 1969. She went on to have a family and then to community college CTI for two years. She was a bus driver for Whitehall City Schools for many years at which she suffered a stroke. At that time she was given the gift of a 6 month old little girl Shirley VanAllen to raise. This gift gave her the courage and strength to come out of her stroke and learn to live again. They learned to walk together and grow.
Jeannette became a Pharmacy technician for Kroger Pharmacy where she eventually retired. Her life was full of love that out poured to everyone around her.
She enjoyed traveling and camping with husband for years. She continued to go camping with her daughter and grandchild as much as she could. That’s where she was most at peace. She enjoyed Pokemon with her son and grandsons. At which she would jump out of the car to catch them. Family and her animals were the biggest part of her life. She moved back out to the country 18 years ago where she loved attending to many flower bed and vegetable gardens. There were many family gatherings out there. Which she kept telling everyone to come back soon let’s do it again. Of course with the beautiful smile and big blue eyes.
Jeannette loved to garden, spend time with family, and sing. She had a voice of an Angel. She sang in church choirs and did solo’s. She even sang the Lord’s Prayer at her brother’s wedding.
