Jean Rottmeier Morton, age 101, passed away Friday, July 6, 2018 in Delaware, Ohio. Daughter of Parker and Alta (Fulton) Rottmeier of St. Clairsville, Ohio. Graduated from Muskingum College with a major in English and was a member of Delta sorority. She taught English at Flushing High School; married Attorney Charles L. Moore of Cambridge and moved to San Antonio. After WW II, they moved to Cambridge and she was extremely active in charitable organizations and the Cambridge Community Theatre, where she acted and directed numerous plays. Charles passed away in 1970. In 1975, she married Attorney Robert J.G. Morton and they moved to Bexley where she lived for the next 30 years. During this time, she and Robert traveled extensively nationally and internationally. Robert passed away in 2005, she then moved to Kensington Place, independent living facility until 2012. Subsequently, she moved to the Inn at Olentangy Trail in Delaware, Ohio where she resided until her death. She is survived by her son Dr. Stephen P Moore and wife Mary Sue Moore, of Iowa; grandchildren, Jeffrey S. Moore and Dr. Kelly M. Moore; stepson, Robert H. Morton and stepdaughter, Katherine Morton Epler. Jean was a past member of Children's Hospital Twig # 13, the Mary Ritter Garden Club and St. Alban's Episcopal Church. The family would like to thank the doctors and staff at the Inn at Olentangy Trail for the loving care shown to Jean the last few years. A Memorial Service will be held 11:30 am Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at SCHOEDINGER MIDTOWN CHAPEL, 229 E. State Street, Columbus, Ohio, where family will receive friends at a reception immediately following the service.
