Jean was an active member of Riverside United Methodist Church for 49 years. Jean was also the owner of two very successful businesses, Mark Kay Cosmetics for 25 years, and Capital City Tours for 10 years. She was also employed at Battelle Memorial Institute for 30 years. Jean was also an active member at the Upper Arlington Senior Center, where she enjoyed dinners, programs and socializing.
Jean will be greatly missed by her husband, Tom, of 59 years; daughter Lori Peare, son Jim Hayward, daughter Jennifer (Kevin) Painter, Sister Kathy (Benno Groeneveld) Wilson, Granddaughters, Katie (Richard) Melton, Jessica (Michael) Neuhart, Allison Painter, Kayla Painter and Sydney Tyler. Great Grandchildren Griffin, Abigail, Tatum and Ronald. She also leaves behind four nieces, six nephews, four great-nieces, five great-nephews and three great-great-nephews. She is also leaving behind countless friends, whom she all loved dearly. In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her stepmother, Cleo and her sister Sharon (Baker).
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 17, 2022 from 4-7 PM at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST,
1740 Zollinger Road, Upper Arlington, Ohio 43221. Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at Riverside United Methodist Church, 2701 Zollinger Road, Upper Arlington, Ohio 43221. Interment at Union Cemetery, Columbus, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to: Ovarian Cancer Alliance of Ohio or Summit Hospice.
