Jane M. Barr

Jane “Dyer” Barr, age 87, passed away peacefully on February 14, 2018. She was born February 24, 1930 to her parents Alva Dyer and Nora Jenkins Dyer in Pickaway Township. Jane attended Pickaway Township School and graduated Valedictorian of her class in 1948. She married Ira J. Barr in May of 1948. Jane was the first woman to drive a bus for Logan Elm Schools. She drove for 15 years. Jane also sold real estate for John Evans Realty, and served as a greeter at Circleville Walmart for 16 years where she made several friends. Jane was an 80 year active member of Salem United Methodist Church in Meade, and valued the close relationships she had there.

Jane is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Ira; and her sister Mary Ellen Martin. Left to mourn her passing are her two sons Brad (Maria) and Brian (Kym) Barr; her four grandchildren Nathan, Jeremy (Amy), Joshua and Natalie; step grandson Doug; five great grandchildren Emily, Heather, Cory, Jenna and Leah; 3 step great grandchildren Abigail, Justin, and Ashley; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 17th at Defenbaugh-Wise-Schoedinger Funeral Home, located at 151 East Main Street Circleville, from noon to 2pm. Jane’s funeral service will be held at 2pm with Chaplain Jim Ferrell officiating. Burial will follow at Hitler-Ludwig Cemetery
