James Edward Ross

James E. Ross, age 85, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at Monterey Care Center. Jim was born on September 26, 1930 in Columbus to the late Doyle and Laura (Buchanan) Ross. Jim was a graduate of Franklin University then went on to proudly serve his country in the US Army and National Guard. Jim worked for the CXS Railroad for over 40 years. After retiring from the RR he worked for Bobby Layman Chevrolet for 10 years. Jim was a longtime member of Grove City Church of the Nazarene. He enjoyed traveling, working in his yard, NASCAR particularly Jeff Gordon and rooting for The Ohio State University Buckeyes. Preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Sherri Baker; sisters, Joanne, Rita and Sandy. Survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Jean Ross; sons, Craig (Lee) Ross and Steve (Lisa) Ross; grandchildren, Marty, Jennifer, Brandon, Ryan, Halley, Alec, Kamryn and Evan; great-grandchildren, Kaidence and Maria; son-in-law, Steve Baker; special friend, Theresa Ross; and many other relatives and friends. Family will receive friends 2-5 Sunday, October 18, 2015 at Schoedinger Grove City Chapel, 3920 Broadway, Grove City, OH where funeral service will be held 10:00 am Monday, October 19, 2015 with Pastor Ed Linville officiating.
