James H. Roberts

James H. Roberts, Sr. age 88 of Orient, passed away Sunday, September 19, 2021 at Mount Carmel Grove City. James was born in Madisonville, KY to the late James and Gertrude Roberts. He worked as foundry worker from which he later retired. James loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed bowling, watching westerns, and the Pittsburgh Steelers, and was mechanically gifted and could fix anything. He was a loving husband, dad, and grandpa who loved his family as well as sharing stories of growing up in Dawson Springs, Kentucky. He was a very hardworking man in every sense of the word. In addition to his parents, James is preceded in death by his loving wife of 42 years, Odema; brother Chester Roberts; sister Nita Epps; Sons-in-law Duane Wilson and Bruce Creamer; and granddaughter Kelly Devine. James is survived by his loving children James (Diane) Roberts, Jr., Tami (Jay Trant) Creamer-Trant, Pamela (Todd Montgomery) Wilson, Gary (Jesscina Hinkle) Roberts, and Danny Coventry; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; sisters Willowdean Rusher, and Judi DeLong; brothers Homer (June) Roberts and Terry (Bonnie) Roberts; sister-in-law Cathy Roberts; niece who was like a daughter Brenda Linley; and many other dear nieces, nephews and family members. James family will receive friends 12-1 PM Monday, September 27, 2021 at Schoedinger Grove City where his funeral service will follow at 1 PM. Family member Pastor Toby Williams will officiate.
