James Leland McClain

James Leland McClain of Orient, Ohio passed away at the age of 84 on July 14, 2018. He was born in Hartford City, Indiana to the late Esther and Marvin McClain. He lived his school aged years there and then joined the U.S. Army and served in Germany. On his return he attended Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana. He worked for Owens Illinoise/Techniglas for 30 years working in Muncie, Indiana, Pittston Pennsylvania and Columbus, Ohio. Jim loved fishing in Canada and vacationing in Tortola BVI. He was an avid golfer and a talented woodworker. Jim is survived by his wife of 59 years Lynn; three children, Michelle Leigh McClain, Douglas Alan McClain (Kelly), and Cheryl Lynn Sheets (Stuart), sister, Pattie Butcher (Jim); as well as many beloved grandchildren and great children. Our family will miss Jim so very much. A Memorial Service will be held 11 AM Thursday July 19, 2018 at Harrisburg United Methodist Church 1160 High St, Harrisburg, OH 43126. Pastor Nancy Day-Achauer officiating. Family will receive friends beginning one hour prior to the service.
