Henry R. Stephens, age 92, of Columbus, Ohio passed away Monday, July 22, 2024 at home. He was born on April 4, 1932 in Brierfield, Alabama to the late Lilly M. (Green) and John H. Stephens. After high school, Henry served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He retired from Plastic Suppliers after 45 years of service. He was active in the community and shared good times with his comrades at the AMVETS Post 2000; Reynoldsburg VFW Post 9473, and the Moose Lodge. Henry enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, woodworking, winemaking, telling a good story, and barbeques with the family. He loved tinkering with gadgets and earned the nickname “Sparky” for his ability to cause a few sparks to fly now and then. In addition to his parents, Henry was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Dolores L. Stephens; daughter, Karen Williams; grandson, Ben Stephens; sisters, Augustine, Allery, and Dee Dee. He is survived by his children, Debbie Morin, John (Lisa) Stephens, Henry Stephens, and Robert (Shannon) Stephens; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, John W. (Jody) Stephens; several nieces and nephews; long-time companion, Gayle Branham. Family will receive friends 5-8 Thursday, July 25, 2024 at Schoedinger East, 5360 E. Livingston Ave., where a funeral service will begin at 11:30 am Friday, July 26th. Entombment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
