Evelyn A. (Stewart) Poole

Psalm 116.15

Evelyn A. (Stewart) Poole was born on September14, 1925, to the union of Emmett J. Stewart, Sr. and Ollie O. Owen. She departed this life for her eternal home and to be with her Lord on May 14, 2020.

Evelyn accepted Christ as her Savior and Lord. She was a faithful and devoted member of the First Church of God for over 50 years. She remained faithful even when illness hindered her attendance. Evelyn enjoyed serving as a Kindergarten Sunday School Teacher for many years. Evelyn was known for her caring and giving spirit.

Evelyn retired from the State of Ohio, School for the Blind, where she was a part of the Kitchen Staff. She enjoyed serving the children their three meals a day. Working there allowed her to be of true service to those who needed her.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her mother, Ollie Thompson, father, Emmett J. Stewart, Sr., and brother, Emmett J. Stewart, Jr.

Left to cherish fond and precious memories are her cousin Mark (Debra) Wilkerson, Jordan (Son), Latoya Baldwin (Daughter); Jay (Nadia) Wilkerson, Mariel (Daughter), Miles (Son); James (Vicki) Wilkerson, Clovis, New Mexico; (Aunt) Edith Owen, 101 years old, South Boston, Virginia; Cousins Linda Lewis, Rochester, New York; Joylette Winbush, Albany, New York; Cousins Cynthia D. Johnson; Thompson, DeBerry, Gaddis, and Matthews; Next door neighbors Gary and Vera White and Zack Sr. and Zack Jr. Dunson; and her special and faithful friend Jodi Doneghy.

The family wants to thank the staff of Highbanks Assisted Living for their wonderful care and support of Evelyn over the years.
